Shutdown your iPod Touch for Optimal Performance

Since the iPod Touch caches a lot of the applications and data in memory, and doesn’t actually fully terminate applications when you close them, you might want to periodically shutdown your iPod Touch to get the best performance from it.
When you “soft switch off” the iPod Touch, you’re effectively putting it into standby mode. This means data in the internal RAM is stored until you next switch it on. The internal caches and buffers will clog up over time, so a full shutdown will clear those buffers. You do the same to your laptop periodically, so the same argument applies to your iPod Touch.

Hey Bob,
Misspelling the word “Shutdown” is not a grammar issue it is a spelling issue. Go back to school and learn the difference before you start criticizing others.
Cripes!
i got on this site to get some help and see people bitching about spelling issues. seriously? Fucking idiots.
Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.

My Ipod touch does not have the power off screen (or I can’t find it) to power off as noted in the comments above. Does the top switch do the same?
Thanks,
Ken
