UC Browser: New Internet Browser for iPhone/iPod Touch
It seems like a iPhone OS browser war has started with the entry of Opera Mini 5 into the market. Now a new browser named UC Browser is available which also uses a proxy server to compress web pages, just like Opera Mini 5. Now, this is a very useful technology for those with limited data plan or having slow internet speed.
UC Browser is a wap browser which uses optimizing technique and dynamic web filtering, which not only increases the speed but also optimizes the web page layout. It also have lot of themes to play with, along with personal data management, download function, and many more.
UC Browser is available for free on Cydia under UC Browser repo.
To add UC Browser repo:
- Launch Cydia.
- Go to Manage >> Sources >> Edit >> Add.
- Type http://wap.uc.cn/en .
One thing is for sure that with other browsers using proxy server for data compression, Apple must also be thinking about the same, for their Mobile Safari browser, but it won’t be coming soon. So, let us know, which browser are you looking forward to?
