iPod PowerMonkey Travel Charger

There’s nothing more annoying than being without music or entertainment when you’re on a really long journey, such as travelling for work or a holiday. If you’re like me, you’re not much of a reader, so rely on something like an iPod to keep you entertained. However, an iPod, regardless of the model, only lasts a certain amount of time on a single charge, and that’s where you need a travel charger. That’s where something like the iPod PowerMonkey Travel Charger comes in handy.
The iPod PowerMonkey Travel Charger (pictured above) is a compact travel charger compatible with power outlets in the US, Australia, Europe and the UK. What’s clever about this unit is that it has its own internal battery that charges up when connected to the mains supply. Once charged, this can be used to charge other devices, namely iPods, mobile phones, digital cameras and even the Sony PSP.
If you want a cheaper, generic mains adaptor, then a cheap AC Adaptor will do the job. I don’t think this adaptor works with the 110V power supplies, but for countries using anything around 240V mains supplies you can use cheap travel plug adaptors.
To avoid the need for a mains adaptor altogether, then an environmentally friendly solar charger called the Freeloader from Maplin is an ace alternative. And you get to save the planet too!

The power monkey is compatable with all ipod’s either with the ipod connector or usb connector using your ipod cable.
what trash! The power monkey does not work with the iPod touch! It works with the other iPods ok but not the touch. It does not deliver the correct power even if the adaptor is plugged into your electrical socket. Stop saying it does.
The people who make power monkey have produced a new power tip which will allow it to charge the ipod touch. If you have a power monkey that does not currently work with the touch contact the company and they will send you one out. Contact this guy to deliver one to you: Oliver Moore [oliver@powertraveller.com]
Worth the wait, thank you. I?ll probably get fired for spending all afternoon reading it, but worth the wait nonetheless. Cheers.
