Spirit Jailbreak [MuscleNerd]: First iPad Jailbreak
No doubt that Apple is one of the finest companies in the world, but hackers are even better then Apple. Its been just two days since the launch of iPad, and Devteam’s MuscleNerd has already uploaded a video of successfully porting “Spirit” to iPad, which was originally developed by Comex, and this complete jailbreak is a combined effort of ChronicDevteam, Comex, Chpwn, and Devteam.
It seems like iPad has the similar bug which existed in iPhone OS 3.1.3 Mobile Safari, which was used for userland jailbreak of iPhone. However, Comex has confirmed that Spirit Jailbreak is not same as Userland Jailbreak, but still this jailbreak can be used for iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, and potentially iPad 3G.
Unfortunately, there is no news about the release date of this jailbreak, but expect it after the launch of iPhone OS 3.2, so that it won’t become useless with a quick update.
