psx4iPhone: Sony Playstation 1 Emulator for iPhone/iPod Touch
Yesterday, we told you about gpSPhone, which is the Nintendo Gameboy Advance Emulator for iPhone/iPod Touch, developed by ZodTTD. This same developer has also developed an emulator for Sony Playstation 1.
Just like gpSPhone, psx4iPhone can be slow on some titles, and is recommended only for iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd Gen. However, you will be required to get BIOS and ROMs, all by yourself. Here is an FAQ page from ZodTTD.
Follow the following instructions to run game on psx4iPhone:
1.Get PSX BIOS called scph1001.bin
(Note: all the letters in the file name should be in lowercases.)
2. Go to /Var/Mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/ and paste the BIOS file there.
3. Also paste the game file( .ISO, .BIN, .IMG, .Z) in /Var/Mobile/Media/ROMs/PSX/.
psx4iPhone has been updated, and now it also works with iPhone OS 3.1.3. Also lots of bugs have been fixed in this version, and it has got an improved UI.
psx4iPhone can be downloaded from Cydia via ZodTTD and MacCiTi repo for free.
