BitDefender Warns for a New Malware Claiming iPhone Unlock App
BitDefender has recently discovered a new malware that sits on your computer when you click on a link in a mail, promising an iPhone unlocking app that will take care of vendor set networking restrictions on iPhone.
The link takes you to a website which guides you on downloading app, and use it. Once executed, app causes a Trojan.BAT.AACL virus to infect your computer, which can modify DNS server address. Hence, infected PC will redirect you to a different website, every time you enter some popular website in address bar, which can pass some more virus to your PC.
To avoid such mishap, never click on unknown mails, and remember that jailbreaks and unlocks are provided by Geohot and Devteam for free. So, always use their website for downloading jailbreaks and unlocks. If you have already clicked on such a link then use BitDefender’s free online scanner.
