Everyone was waiting so eagerly for a iPhone 4 jailbreak from some well known hacker, and since Geohot has left jailbreak community, users were looking forward to Musclenerd, PlanetBeing, and Comex. And finally Comex, iPhone Dev Team member, has released a JailbreakMe 2.0 which works not only for iPhone 4 but for almost all iDevices running iOS 3.1.2 and later.
Here is the list of compatible devices:
iOS 4.0.1 – iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G
iOS 4.0 -iPhone 4, iPhone 3G[S], iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 2G
iOS 3.2 – iPad
iOS 3.1.3 – iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 2G, iPod touch 1G
iOS 3.1.2 – iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 2G, iPod touch 1G
Guide to jailbreak with JailbreakMe 2.0
JailbreakMe 2.0 is one of the easiest jailbreak to work with. To jailbreak iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad with JailbreakMe 2.0, you just need to visit http://www.jailbreakme.com/ from Safari browser of your device, and follow the instruction “Slide to jailbreak”.
Wait for a few seconds and a pop up will show you a screen like the one shown below.

Note: Sync your device with iTunes, and take a backup before jailbreaking your device.
It was reported that FaceTime and MMS feature does not work properly with JailbreakMe 2.0. But an update for this has already been released, and there are no known issues with this jailbreak.
Remember that JailbreakMe 2.0 neither hacktivate nor unlock your device, so use other tools to do so. By the way, a JailbreakMe 2.0 compatible unlock is promised by iPhone Dev Team, within next two day. Till then, keep an eye on our site for further updates.
