How to SSH into your iPod Touch

A relatively simple way to access files on your iPod Touch is to use SSH. Enabling an SSH service on your iPod Touch is more likely to appeal to the geeks like me rather than mainstream users. The process involves setting up OpenSSH on the iPod Touch, and then using a file transfer client with an SSH client facility (like CyberDuck on the Mac or WinSCP on Windows).
The guide specifically tackles using SSH from a Mac, but those with enough knowledge of what’s going on can easily adapt the information to work on any other operating system with an SSH client. I wonder how long it will be before someone starts running a webserver from an iPod Touch!
Update:
I have written a step by step guide to SSH iPod Touch 2G in Windows

Back to the point – Very good guide thanks!!
I think the way to ssh is the same as 2g. Use the link posted. They basically have the same software. http://ipodtouchtricks.net/ipod-touch-tutorials/how-to-ssh-into-ipod-touch-2g-transfer-files-apps-via-ssh-access/
Listen, Guys. you don’t need to use all this stuff to ssh your iTouch/iPhone. I’ve found a solution to manually put items into your idevice(which means roms, themes, apps, and all that other jailbreaking crap) without wifi, you don’t even need jalbreaking,(but I reccomend it becoause jailbreaking creates those folders to explore your device)First of all, download TouchCopy 09 trial for your computer,(just google it and go to the top result) and once you’ve installed it, let it read your device, and then on the top left, you’ll see something that says explore. Once you’ve clicked on that, all of your ipod folders will be there just lke any ssh tool,(I think its more organized too)and there you go! You don’t even need internet after your finished installing the program. Now you can add or delete anything from your idevice just like ssh. This program is meant to copy your songs and videos to your computer without iTunes, but I found a way……….
