Jailbreak/Unlock iPhone OS 3.1 with Pwnage Tool [Download Links]

Kudos for Dev Team for releasing the Unlock software for 3.1, A few days ago iPhone Dev team released the much awaited Unlock software Pwnage Tool for unlocking the new iPhone Firmware 3.1, but this release is only for users having iPhone 2G/iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 1G.

Owners of iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G/3G would have to wait a bit longer as Apple has complicated the process. But don’t worry we will see it soon.

Yes you have to do it manually in windows, use the custom firmware 3.1 ipsw file, also plz note that users must not be on firmware 3.1 before attempting upgrade to custom 3.1 firmware using 3.1 ipsw files.

Windows Users who have upgraded their iphone to 3.1 via itunes needn’t try it as it will give error. Users on 3.0 can try this .. or just wait for redsn0w

I have been waiting for ages, for the dev team to release the 3.1 firware jailbreaking tool for the ipod touch 2nd gen!!!
p.s. why cant they make a jailbroken firmware, then put that up for us to download, so wen dont have to go thought all that trouble?

There are several pages on the net stating that the iPhone can be jailbroken and unlocked to version 3.1 or above. This is nothing new today.

HOWEVER … not a single page claims to be able to unlock the iPhone 3G AFTER it has been updated to 3.1 via iTunes using Apple’s original 3.1 update.

It surprises me how many people are packaging the old wine in new bottle. Custom IPSW file to jailbreak and unlock has been available since 7 days of apple releasing the 3.1 update.

Credit will belong to the one that actually unlocks the 3G that has been updated with Apple’s original IPSW. Till then let mediocrity pat itself on its own back.
