What leaves me feeling this is close to what we would see from an Apple tablet/slate/whatever is the 10.7 Cloud OS. The data center in NC that Apple is getting ready to roll out could serve a cloud-based or partially cloud-based OS. But . . . some of the specs included and missing, leaving me in doubt about this scoop.
First, no mention of mobile 3G/4G connectivity. It does not make sense that this device would be limited to Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity. Second, the inclusion of Ethernet seems doubtful. That’s an extra port space being used with a device that would be geared for mobility. (But being a full-fledged PC the inclusion of it is not ridiculous.) Third, no video out? Not likely. This thing will replace Apple TV. Some sort of HDMI output will be needed. (Maybe replacing the slot for an ethernet port.)
