iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 Jailbreak with Blackra1n [Windows]
Geohot has released another cool jailbreak program Blackra1n that will allow you to jailbreak your iPhone 3GS/3G/2G on OS 3.1.2 , the same software can also be used for jailbreaking your iPod Touch 1G/2G/3G having firmware 3.1.2. iPod Touch 3G 3.1.2 jailbreak is however tethered at the moment which means you will have to connect it to your Windows PC and run Blackra1n again if you want to restart.
Its a small 600KB .exe file, that will detect your iPhone OS and will jailbreak your device
How to Jailbreak iPhone 3GS 3.1.2 with Blackra1n in Windows XP
Its a pretty straightforward jailbreak this time, you just need iTunes 9 and updated iPhone 3GS with firmware 3.1.2, now run the blackra1n.exe, it will self detect iPhone OS and click on make it rain, wait for the iPhone to restart and then go to your iPhone apps, Run blackra1n application from your iPhone and install Cydia/ICY and you are ready to roll.
Note for iPhone 3GS users: Do not upgrade to iPhone OS 3.1.2 as of now if you want the unlocking functionality, as it will upgrade your baseband.

Jailbreak went well, cydia downloaded well, after clicking on cydia a window came up saying I did not have latest software and needed to upgrade. I did so and when asked to connect to puter I did so. But when I turned on Itunes it made me restore my IPOD touch 3G to factory settings and reloaded IPOD from last backup. I have Itunes 9.0.1.8. Any help would be appreciated. R
