iPod Touch 2G Jailbreak: Semi-Tethered Redsn0w Now Available for Free Download
iPhone Dev team: Redsn0w the only Jailbreaking solution currently available to jailbreak iPod Touch 2G has progressed to a semi-tethered version, they are still working on the untethered jailbreak. The semi tethered jailbreak don’t have many improvements, the main feature is that now you will be able to reboot your device without the trouble of going into DFU mode and problems like your PC USB ports not recognizing the iPod Touch 2G, but wait there’s is a catch you won’t be able to use your jailbroken apps until you do the jailbreak again.
Semi Tethered Jailbrake for iPod Touch 2G :
"semi-tethered" Jailbreak. From Read me: when your device reboots: - If you are having access to a computer and apply the appropriate commands, your device will boot into a fully jailbroken state - If you are NOT having access to a computer or do NOT apply the appropriate commands, your device will still boot but ALL JAILBROKEN FUNCTIONALITY will be disabled. This is a temporary condition and you can get back to your fully jailbroken state by doing a tethered reboot. All of your jailbroken apps will remain in place but won’t be usable until the tethered reboot.
I have not yet used the semi-tethered release on my iPod Touch 2G as I am perfectly fine with the previous tethered jailbreak(working awesome) and would upgrade only with untethered release.

NOTE for anyone. If you don’t know how to jailbreak, then don’t try to. Otherwise it probably means that you have not got much experience, and you could brick it. just wait 1 or 2 months, and the iphone dev team will probably release a simple version. Seriously. Unless you completely understand jailbreaking wait. Thats what im doing anyway!
I had no idea what jailbreaking was and got in done in about 15 minutes with the tethered jailbreak GUI by Cyw00d.Just go to http://www.ipodtouchfans.com and go to forums then ipod touch 2g jailbreak and you’ll find cyw00d quickly.Its almost completely automated and very simple.I love the tethered jailbreak!I’m not switchin!:D
