Jailbreak iPod Touch 1G/2G Firmware 3.1.1?

phew its lucky that i researched before upgrading!
i was about to upgrade to 3.1.1 on my itouch 2g and lucky i read this page first before that.

jailbreak comes out 19 september as announced by the dev team

I’m updated of that, so I’m stuck on this without jailbroken…So can use downgrade of that? On my Mac or Win platform I can’t do that anyware

Is there any possible way to update the software and keep your iPod’s jailbroken status? Like if I upgrade to the 3.1.1 software can I like jailbreak with the new software while it is jailbroken and then keep my themes and jailbroken apps?

I attempted jailbreak after upgrading to 3.1.1 and now my ipod touch 2g is bricked. Any idea how to restore? My itunes library is not synced so need to save my videos and music from the ipod.

i was so dumb and updated my ipod touch 2g to firmware 3.1.1 and i heard that there is no jailbreaking possible.
Now i have 2 questions:
When will the Jailbreak come out and when i jailbreak my ipod touch when the jailbreak comes out do i get my apps back or will they stay lost. (i mean i got the icons but i cant open them).
PLEASE I NEED HELP!!!

JailBreak Comes out in september 19. For the second question i had this problem and my friend I had it too so you just need to restart you ipod touch and delete all the apps from it and again sinc them in.Well when you jail break you Itouch I dont know what happens cuz i have never jailbreaken one myself but im gona jailBreak one when the RedSn0w comesout!

I had at least 30 free jailbroken apps and something screwed up my itouch and I had to restore it and while it restored I had to get the 3.1 update I was so pissed

If you want to restore your itouch,just download ipod firmware NOT 3.1.1 from http://www.felixbruns.de then you can restore it by clicking shift + enter on iTunes restore then choose your downloaded firmware then you can jailbreak it again by using redsnow.Good Luck!;-)

i tried using redsnow but it dint wrk.
i had to go to apple service center to fix my itouch.
there is no way to degrade the firmware to 3.0.
i dint have ne applications or games issued from 3rd party on my itouch pl help me guys..

If you want free apps for your ipod touch nomatter what firmware go to appulo.us on your computer and download from there and upload to itunes by dragging the .ipa file to the applications window and sync to you ipod.

The moment somebody starts selling the tool, the will release it.

I think there is a good reason for them to be holding it… maybe they know there will be a new update soon and they don’t want @pple to fix the bug before the release.

ipodlover- if u want to downgrade you need an older version of itunes. it wont work with itunes 9. then hold shift and click restore. Pick your custom ipsw file 3.0 in your case and restore it. you can also jailbreak it with redsn0w if its 3.0

I was having loads of problems after an IPOD TOUCH was upgraded to 3.1, i couldnt downgrade to 3.0 for love nor money…

Itunes continuously came up with errors when trying to download…

I however just started a jai1break on the device with redsn0w and purposefully interupted it (unplugged the ipod) after the disk drive appeared onscreen…

I then tried to downgrade again (without switching off (disk drive still on screen)) and was able to downgrade from 3.1 to 3.0 without problem…

Hope this helps anyone who still cant downgrade…

The 3.1.1 jailbreak is out. On Microsoft you need to download the custom ipsw file from http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DDKDEJEF
Then go to iTunes(itune 9 or 9.01 works better) shift click restore and choos the custom ipsw file. when it is finished it will be jailbroken, but your ipod has to jailbroken on 3.0 first. for more info watch this vid
