Download iPod Touch 1G/2G/3G Firmware OS 3.1.2

i have used the blackra1n to download de jailbreak .. but some problem seems to occur when i restart de device .. and it would automatically ask me to plug the device into de computer .. and i must restore de whole thing again >.< is there any way to solve this problem ?

Dont restore your ipod… that is your best bet

Its a zip file…what do I do with it?

rename the zip to blahblah.ipsw

it always downloads as a folder, not a file, when i decompress it it is still a folder, how do i fix this?

when i click restore it says “itunes will restore your ipod to iPhone 3.1.2 software” will it still work?

When i download it i get it as a zip and i saw the comment to rename it with .ipsw at the end so i did that and when i shit-click restore and go find it and click it it says no items match your search…so when i click open anyways nothing happens…it doesnt even try to load just nothing…help plz

if you get zip file, try to download the file using firefox. It worked for me

You can’t turn off you iPod, blackra1n is a nonteathered jailbreak, meaning you cant turn it off, to fix your plug into itunes problem, run balckra1n again.

Actually Blackra1n in an unteathered jailbreak which means that you CAN turn off your ipod. Just don’t try Blackra1n with the 3.1.2 firmware, it’ll freez it up. If you use Blackra1n with the 3.1.2 firmware like i just told you not to and it freezes up, hold the lock and home button down at the same time untill you see the apple logo. Hope this helps someone.

I think the ipod touch 2g 3.1.2 firmware and the 3g 3.1.2 are the same thing, arent they?
If so, you should probably just put one link lol.

download them in firefox not internet explorer it works then cause it saves it as a ipsw file :):)

tried to dl 3.1.2 firmware twice from felixbruns and megauploads. TWICE i got a rogue antispyware virus. Luckily I was able to do a system restore and get rid of it. NOTHING is trustworthy now. If someone knows a link that does NOT infect my computer, please post it.

You can’t downgrade an iPod touch 3G from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 if you bought it after January 1,2010 because the Apple company made sure no one jailbreaked it so they patched all the files. And the link for the 3.1.2 for the iPod touch 2G is broken. someone should fix that.

go to itunes preferences, devices and then delete backup(s)
and after that try to connect your ipod(iphone) that at least how it work with mine without any hack programs. hope it will help you
