How to Download and Install Themes on iPod Touch
I have received this question many times from site visitors asking how they can install themes on iPod Touch, today I will tell you how to do it.
- To install themes on your iPod Touch you must have a Jailbroken iPod Touch 1G/2G.
- Then download and install Winterboard App from Telesphoreo from Cydia, Cydia will be only available after you have Jailbraked your iPod Touch. Note: WinterBoard requires a reboot.
- WinterBoard comes with some pre-installed themes, you can try them easily by selecting the theme and exiting the application, In the below screenshot I have selected the Picnic theme, you can find it in Cydia by searching for Picnic.

Now see how the Picnic theme looks like after WinterBoard has applied it.
Where can I find and Download Awesome Themes for my iPod Touch
Well it depends on what you want, you will need to search based on your requirement, you can find themes based on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac for your iPod Touch. Some theme names to get your started VistaMobile( first image), Vista Maximus, Picnic. For more Go to Cydia -> Sections here scroll down to Themes. Now you can find themes in various categories: App themes, Battery themes, Complete themes, Keyboard themes, Lockscreen themes, Springboard themes, System themes etc. After downloading themes they will appear in the WinterBoard from where you can apply themes.

I have seen so many posts on how to install a theme using winterboard and summberboard from cydia to ipod touch. But what i would like to know is, “How to install themes from Windows to Ipod touch”. I am using jailbroken ipod touch firmware 2.2.1.
There are so many internet sites providing ipod touch theme download to computer but none has given any instruction as how to put them into my ipod. It would be great to know the way other than using cydia.

I have an ipod touch 8g with the 3.1.1 software update, I think that there should also be a way to jailbreak my ipod too, isn’t there?

Hi I have jailbroken my iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2 and downlaoded cydia and then got winterboard I then downloaded the themes I tried to turn them on but after I have exited winterboard the little loading comes on the screen for about 3 seconds starts turning then the whole screen freezes for about 30 seconds then it comes to the locking screen I type in my code but nothing has changed and the themes haven’t worked please please please cand sombody help me I’ve been on this for hours and I’m gettin really fustrated

How do i install winterboard without my itouch crashing! I have version 3.1.2 and last time i downloaded it winterboard it went into recovery.

I had the same problem. I have jailbroken my IPT with black rain.. after installing winterboard cydia reboots the device
and when you connect to your pc it says to restore your IPT
. Don’t restore just opem blackra1n and click make it ra1n
and your iphone or IPT will be fine and the winterboard will be installed successfully

Hey, I have a iPod touch 3G. I installed Blackra1n with no problem. & cydia wow I was happy. then I downloaded Winterboard. It shut off then on again. Afterwords said connect to iTunes I did. However it said a problem had happend it was going to recover or whatever . then it gott stuck I shut it of ( top button and home ) for 10 secs then, everything was gone EVERYTHING. I had to backit up. 
:(

if u want themes for ipod touch….jailbreak it first… instal cydia….search for winterboard….and than go to cydia again and search for thems and install them with winterboard….easy as 1 2 3…xD

Steps for Winterboard (blackra1n - tethered iTouch 3rd Gen 3.1.2):
1) Download blackra1n off blackra1n.com
2) Connect your iTouch
3) Open blackra1n
4) Press make it rain
5) Wait until it says Done, waiting for reboot
6) Close blackra1n
7) Turn on iTouch
Open blackra1n
9) Choose Cydia and install
10) Go into Cydia
11) Choose search at the bottom
12) Search for Winterboard
13) Install it
14) Click big black button when finished
15) Connect iTouch to Computer
16) Open blackra1n
17) Repeat steps 1 - 7
Now it should be installed for you

i am having a problem trying to install themes. every time i try to download the winderboard app it says i need a system reboot but when i do that, it completely clears the enire ipod and i have to restore it and rejailbreak it…plz help?
Hey i have an ipod 8gb version 3.1.1 is there a way to put themes on that? i really want them but it says its only for version 3.1….=[ is there a way to jailbreak my itouch that wont kill it?
ive heard so many ppl downloading this crap and to b honest its not worth trying as it breaks the ipod instantly so jst stay put with the same theme till som1 comes up with a solution.
