Windows XP on an iPod Touch

Thanks to a comment left on the site, I was told about this impressive video of Windows XP being installed on an iPod Touch. As far as I can tell, the video and concept is genuine. I wouldn’t have thought that the iPod Touch was powerful enough to run Windows XP personally.
I don’t think that any remote desktop type tool or application such as VNC is being used, as you can’t see the installation screen nor the windows startup screen over VNC. This is because the VNC server (as with other remote control applications) are only loaded once the OS has loaded.
The author claims to have written drivers and hacked a bootloader to get the installation working. All that remains now is for the author to share the step-by-step instructions on how it was done! If it is a spoof, the only way that I can think of is that animations and screenshots were created to emulate what would happen if Windows had been installed on an iPod touch. Just think of what can be done with photoshop.

I didn’t do it, I just found a video of someone doing it. I’ve love to know in detail how it was done too!
its a fake it open windows media player by itself and if he freshly intalled XP it wouldnt have any programs on the desktop
its fake, he photoshop it or something. the guy how made the video even said it himself. it was just suppose to be a joke
it might be a fake, but we do know of ways to put an OS whether it be linux or windows onto an ipod touch. many step by step instructions do exist and are in use. i would not recommend it as the ipod is not made to run anything but itself.
Made a mistake in the video, if he did his research you can’t run windows media player right after the installation of windows xp, it requires you to install it first, and I don’t think it even comes as windows media player 11 right from installation either, I know mine didn’t.
Well, he could have done it. It’s possible… if you could put windows mobile on the touch why not xp? It could also be a CE(compact edition).
its real bechus i have the theme on my ipod touch you can get it from cidya or installer or customize…
It’s a nice video and all, but it is not possible to get XP on the iPod touch. The iPod MAY be powerful enough to run it, but the iPod uses the ARM architecture, not x86. XP has never been and never will be ported, thus meaning this video has to be a fake.
its fake. try to install windows xp via bootcamp on your mac. you now that takes hours or at least an half our. the booting is also very fast in this video. this isn’t true. my macbook can’t do it this fast, and a ipod can? that doesn’t make sense. the hardware of a mac is better that the hardware from a ipod. so.
While I am skeptical about whether its real or not (most likely a video) the comment from Dan bugs me, you are correct that you cant load media player that quickly after installation. However your missing that the video jumps to show these features.it show’d only part of the installing then jumped to show what booting up looks like. There done nitpicking.
I think he just has a video of XP booting, and played it on the iPod. And when he opened Media Player, it looked like the vista versoin anyway. It is fake
its an aplication, he run it as an app of the ipod and it isnt an xp, ther are only photographs of an xp mobile, i had it in italian in my cellfone it war like a game .jar its easy to realise that isnt real because if not why he had the keyboard and the tactil functions while he is instaling it, how with out the drivers. imposible
Its a fake people move along.
There are so many errors with it.
the first one if that the dual boot screen thing the iphone keyboard shows up. thus its not a native installation.
The iPhone keyboard is programmed into the iPhone OS, not the hardware.
And the iphone wouldnt be able to run itself plus xp at the same time.
Thus: Fake
go to spiritjb.com to jailbreak a 3rd gen ipod, ipad, or iphone on anny os. this is only for 3.1.3. i have tryed this allready. it takes less than 1 minute to download, and like 1 minute to jailbreak an ipod ipad, or iphone. this installs cydia.
Wow…some real retards on here I guess. Windows media player 11 come packed and installed along with Windows xp service pack 3. So yeah he could run it right after words.

ok im really impressed on how you did that….
will u be willing to share how you put xp on your touch?
